How do I send you large files?
Put the files in a Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive folder, share it as a view-only link, and paste that link into a request in your client portal.
Email and text messages shrink photos and limit attachment sizes. For many photos, videos or design files, share a folder link instead. You keep the originals, and we get full-quality copies.
What you need
- A Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive account. A free account is usually enough.
- About ten minutes, plus upload time.
Steps with Google Drive
Official guide: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2494822
- Open Google Drive and create a new folder with a clear name, such as "Website photos, October".
- Upload your files into the folder.
- Select the folder and click Share.
- Under General access, choose Anyone with the link.
- Set the permission to Viewer.
- Click Copy link.
- Open a request in your client portal and paste the link with a note about what the files are for.
Dropbox and OneDrive work the same way: upload to a folder, create a share link with view-only access, and paste the link into your request.
Tips
- Upload the original files, not copies saved from social media or messages.
- Use clear file names, such as "front-entrance.jpg", if you want a photo in a certain place.
- Keep the link active until we confirm we have the files.
- Never put passwords or login details in a shared folder.
Common problems
- If we tell you the link asks for access, change General access to Anyone with the link, or share with the email address we give you.
- If you use a work account and cannot share outside your company, your account administrator may have blocked it. Use a personal account or ask your administrator.
- If the upload is very slow, upload in smaller batches on a strong Wi-Fi connection.
