What does 403 mean?
A 403 Forbidden error means the server understood the request but refuses to show the page to you.
403 Forbidden means the server knows what you asked for but will not allow it. Signing in again usually does not help. Common causes are file permissions set wrong on the server, a security tool or firewall blocking your network or country, a folder with no index page, or a page that is limited to certain users. Some sites also return 403 to automated tools they do not trust.
Why it matters for your business: If customers see a 403 on a public page, they cannot reach it at all. It often follows a hosting change or a security setting that is too strict.
What to do if you see it
- Check that the address is correct and reload.
- Try another network, such as switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data, in case your connection is being blocked.
- If you should have access, sign out and back in, or ask the site's owner to check your permissions.
- If the problem is on your own website, open a request in your client portal with the page address and a screenshot, and our team will look into it.
