What is a hyperlink?
A hyperlink, or link, is clickable text, a button or an image that takes you to another page, file or place.
A hyperlink, usually called a link, is something you click or tap to go somewhere else: another page on the same site, another website, a file, an email address or a phone number. Links are often underlined or colored text, but buttons and images can be links too. The words you click are called anchor text. Links that go to other sites are called outbound or external links.
Why it matters for your business: Clear links help visitors find what they need and help search engines understand your pages. A link to a missing page leads to a 404 error.
