What is a URL?
A URL is the full address of one page or file on the web, such as https://yourbusiness.com/services.
A URL (uniform resource locator) is the complete address of a specific page, image or file online. It has parts: the scheme (https://), the domain (yourbusiness.com), and often a path (/services/plumbing). It can also carry extra details after a question mark, such as tracking tags. Your domain name is part of every URL on your site, but each page has its own URL.
Why it matters for your business: Page URLs get saved in bookmarks, shared on social media and stored by search engines. If you change one, add a redirect so old links still work.
