What is content pruning?

Content pruning is reviewing old or weak pages on your site and then improving, combining, redirecting or removing them.

Content pruning is a cleanup of your website's pages. You look for pages that are outdated, thin, duplicated or getting no visits, then decide what to do with each: update it, merge it with a similar page, redirect it to a better page or remove it. The goal is a site where every page is useful. Pages that still get visits or links should be handled with care, usually with a redirect if removed.

Why it matters for your business: A tidy site with strong pages is easier for visitors to use and for search engines to understand. Removing pages carelessly can lose traffic, so plan it first.
