What is data thresholding in Google Analytics?

Data thresholding is when GA4 hides rows with very small numbers in a report to stop anyone from identifying individual visitors.

To protect privacy, GA4 can hold back data when a report shows small groups of users, so no one can guess who an individual visitor is. This often happens when Google signals is on, or in reports with demographics, and is more common on low-traffic sites or short date ranges. A notice in the report shows thresholds were applied. Changing the reporting identity or widening the date range can reduce it.

Why it matters for your business: If a report looks like it is missing data, thresholds may be the cause rather than a tracking problem.
