What is website traffic?
Website traffic is the visitors and visits your website receives, usually measured in users and sessions.
Traffic is a general word for the people coming to your website. In analytics, it is measured as users and sessions, and broken down by where visitors came from: search engines, other websites, social media, email, ads or typing your address directly. Search traffic means visits from search engines, both organic and paid. Traffic can rise and fall with seasons, marketing and search changes.
Why it matters for your business: Traffic is the start of the path to a customer. What matters most is traffic from the right people that leads to calls, forms and sales.
