What does (not set) mean in Google Analytics?

(not set) means Google Analytics did not receive a value for that dimension, so it has nothing to show in that row.

When a report row reads (not set), GA4 has no information for that dimension on those visits. For example, landing page can be (not set) when a session started without a page view being recorded, and campaign shows (not set) for visits with no campaign. Small amounts are normal. A large share can point to a tracking setup problem, such as events firing before the page view or missing UTM values.

Why it matters for your business: A little (not set) is nothing to worry about. If it grows large in an important report, it is worth a tracking check.
