What is a dimension in Google Analytics?
A dimension is a description of your data, like page title, city, device or traffic source. It is the \"what\" or \"where\" in a report.
Dimensions are labels that describe your data. Examples include country, device category, page path, landing page and session source. In a report table, dimensions are usually the rows, such as a list of cities. Metrics are the numbers measured for each row, such as how many users came from each city. Businesses can also add custom dimensions to track details specific to them.
Why it matters for your business: Knowing the difference between dimensions and metrics makes any analytics report easier to read.
