What is a bug?

A bug is a mistake in software that makes it act in a way it should not, such as a button that does nothing or a wrong total.

A bug is an error in code or setup that causes software to behave wrongly. It might be obvious, like a page that will not load, or subtle, like a form that sends but never arrives. Bugs can appear after updates, on certain browsers or devices, or only for some users. Fixing one starts with being able to repeat it, so details such as the page address, device, browser and exact steps matter.

Why it matters for your business: A clear bug report, with steps, a screenshot or short screen recording, and your device and browser, gets a problem fixed much faster.
