What is a commercial investigation query?
A commercial investigation query is a search made while comparing options before a purchase, like \"best\" lists, reviews or \"X vs Y.\"
Commercial investigation queries come from people researching a purchase they plan to make soon. Examples include "best family dentist in Tampa," "Brand A vs Brand B" or "is a tankless water heater worth it." Results often include reviews, comparison articles and lists. The searcher has not chosen yet, and the content they read can sway the decision.
Why it matters for your business: Pages that compare options honestly, show reviews and explain why customers choose you can win over people who are still deciding.
