What is a Google Analytics account?
A Google Analytics account is the top-level container that holds one or more properties, usually one account per business.
Google Analytics is organized in levels. The account is the top level and usually represents your business. Inside it are one or more properties, and each property collects data from your website or app through data streams. Access can be granted at the account level, which covers everything inside, or at the property level. The account should be owned by the business, not by an outside vendor.
Why it matters for your business: Owning the account means your history stays with you if you ever change agencies or web developers. You can add us as a user without giving up ownership.
