What is a Google Analytics property?
A Google Analytics property is where the data for your website or app is collected and reported. Most businesses have one property for their website.
A property sits inside a Google Analytics account and holds the reports and settings for a website, an app or both. In GA4, one property can collect data from a website and from apps through separate data streams, which used to be called an App + Web property. Settings like time zone, currency, data retention and key events are set per property. Older Universal Analytics properties also had "views" under them, which GA4 does not use.
Why it matters for your business: When you share analytics access with us, it is usually to the property. Correct property settings make sure your reports use your time zone and currency.
