What is a gradient?
A gradient is a smooth blend from one color to another, used in backgrounds, buttons and logos.
A gradient is a gradual change from one color to another, or across several colors. A linear gradient blends in a straight line, such as top to bottom, while a radial gradient spreads out from a center point. Websites can draw gradients with code, so they load fast and stay sharp. In print, gradients can show visible stripes, called banding, if the file is low quality, so print files need care.
Why it matters for your business: Gradients can add depth and polish, but text placed on them needs enough contrast across the whole blend to stay readable.
