What is a pixel?
A pixel is one tiny dot of color; screens and digital photos are made of thousands or millions of them.
A pixel is the smallest single dot in a digital image or on a screen. Photos are measured by their pixel dimensions, such as 2000 by 1500 pixels. More pixels can hold more detail, but also make bigger files. Web designers also use pixels as a unit of measure for layout, although phones with sharp screens pack several real dots into each layout pixel.
Why it matters for your business: Knowing pixel sizes helps you send images that are big enough to look sharp but small enough to load fast.
