What is DPI?
DPI means dots per inch, a measure of print detail; print usually needs far more detail per inch than a screen does.
DPI stands for dots per inch. Strictly, it describes how many ink dots a printer places in an inch. People also use it loosely to mean PPI, pixels per inch, which describes how densely an image's pixels are packed when printed. Printers commonly ask for images at around 300 pixels per inch at the final printed size. For websites, the DPI number does not matter; the pixel dimensions do.
Why it matters for your business: If a printer says your image is too low resolution, you need a file with more pixels, not a higher DPI number typed into the settings.
