What is a rich result?

A rich result is a search listing with extra details, like star ratings, prices, event dates or recipe photos, beyond the plain title and text.

A rich result, once commonly called a rich snippet, is an enhanced search listing. Instead of only a title, link and description, it may show review stars, price and stock, event dates, FAQs or images. Search engines create these mostly from structured data on the page. Adding the right structured data makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show the rich version.

Why it matters for your business: Rich results stand out on a crowded page and can earn more clicks than a plain listing in the same position.
