What is click-through rate (CTR)?
Click-through rate is the share of people who click a link after seeing it. It equals clicks divided by impressions.
Click-through rate, or CTR, is the percentage of people who saw a link and clicked it. If your page appeared 1,000 times in search and got 50 clicks, your CTR is 5 percent. Search Console reports CTR for your pages and searches, and ad platforms report it for ads and emails. CTR usually falls as position drops, and it is affected by your title, description and the other features on the page.
Why it matters for your business: A low CTR on a page that ranks well suggests the title or description is not convincing. Improving them can bring more visits without a ranking change.
