What is a serif font?

A serif font has small strokes, called serifs, at the ends of letters, giving a classic or traditional look.

Serifs are the small feet and finishing strokes at the ends of letters. Fonts that have them, such as Times New Roman or Georgia, are called serif fonts. They often feel established, elegant or trustworthy, which is why law firms, publishers and upscale brands use them. Modern screens display serif fonts well, so they work for both headings and body text when chosen with care.

Why it matters for your business: Serif fonts can give your brand a sense of tradition and credibility.
