What is an ad impression?
An impression is counted each time your ad or listing is shown on a screen, whether or not anyone clicks.
An impression is one showing of your ad. If your ad appears on a search page, that counts as one impression, even if the person scrolls past. Impressions are the starting number for most other ad metrics. Click-through rate compares clicks to impressions, and CPM prices ads per 1,000 impressions. Search listings and social posts also report impressions.
Why it matters for your business: Impressions tell you how often people see you. Low impressions mean your budget, bids or targeting may be too narrow to matter.
