What is click-through rate in advertising?
Click-through rate is the share of people who click your ad after seeing it: clicks divided by impressions.
Click-through rate, or CTR, divides clicks by impressions. If your ad shows 2,000 times and gets 60 clicks, your CTR is 3 percent. A high CTR means your ad matches what people want. What counts as good varies a lot by platform and industry, so compare your CTR with your own past results and with similar campaigns rather than one fixed number.
Why it matters for your business: A low CTR is often the first sign that your ad message or targeting is off, and it can also raise what you pay per click.
