What is Google AdSense?
Google AdSense is a Google program that pays website owners to show Google ads on their own pages.
Google AdSense is the other side of Google advertising. Instead of paying to run ads, a website owner adds AdSense code to their site and Google fills open spots with ads from other businesses. The site owner earns a share of what advertisers pay. AdSense is for publishers, such as bloggers and news sites. It is not the tool you use to advertise your own business; that is Google Ads.
Why it matters for your business: Most service businesses do not need AdSense. Outside ads on your site can send visitors away to competitors, so it rarely fits a site built to win customers.
