What is IMAP?
IMAP is a way for email apps to read mail that stays stored on the server, so it stays in sync across all your devices.
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. When your phone or desktop email app uses IMAP, your messages stay on the mail server. Reading, deleting or moving a message on one device shows the same change everywhere else. Most modern email setups use IMAP or a provider's own sync method. It replaced POP for most people.
Why it matters for your business: If you check email on more than one device, IMAP keeps everything consistent, so you never wonder which device has the message.
