What is QR code error correction?
Error correction is extra data built into a QR code so it can still scan when part of it is dirty, damaged or covered by a small logo.
QR codes include backup data that lets a scanner rebuild missing pieces. There are four levels, named L, M, Q and H. Higher levels can recover more damage, roughly 7 percent at L up to about 30 percent at H, but they add more squares and make the code denser. Designers who place a small logo in the center usually choose a higher level so the code still reads.
Why it matters for your business: Choosing the right error correction level helps codes on outdoor signs, packaging and logo-branded designs keep working.
