What is a QR code?

A QR code is a square barcode that phone cameras can scan to open a link, show text or save contact details.

A QR code, short for Quick Response code, stores information in a grid of black and white squares. Most phone cameras read QR codes without a separate app. Businesses use them on menus, signs, flyers, packaging and business cards to send people to a web page, a review form or a booking page. A QR code needs good contrast, enough size and clear space around it to scan reliably.

Why it matters for your business: QR codes connect printed materials to your website. Test every code with several phones before you print in bulk.
