Search volume is an estimate of how many times people search for a keyword in a month. It helps compare how popular different searches are.
Search volume is the estimated number of times a keyword is searched in a given period, usually a month. Keyword tools estimate it from search engine and other data, so different tools show different numbers. Treat it as a rough guide for comparing keywords, not an exact count. Volume for local searches is often low or shown as zero even when real people do search for it.
Why it matters for your business: Volume helps decide which searches are worth a page. A high-volume keyword is not always best, though. A smaller, very specific search can bring more paying customers.
