What is shared hosting?
Shared hosting puts many websites on the same server, splitting its resources. It costs less but busy neighbors can slow your site.
Shared hosting is a hosting plan where your website sits on one server alongside many other customers' websites. Everyone shares the same processing power, memory and network connection. It is the lowest-cost kind of hosting and works fine for many small sites. The trade-off is that a busy or misbehaving site on the same server can slow yours down. Other options give you a private slice of a server, a whole server, or a managed cloud platform.
Why it matters for your business: If your site is often slow at random times or goes down during traffic spikes, the hosting plan may be the cause rather than the website itself.
