What is X (formerly Twitter) advertising?
X advertising means paying to promote posts or accounts on X, the platform formerly called Twitter.
X, which was called Twitter until 2023, offers paid ads you create in its Ads Manager. You can promote a post so more people see it, promote your account to gain followers or run video and website-click campaigns. Targeting options include location, interests, keywords people use and followers of similar accounts. Ads are labeled as promoted.
Why it matters for your business: X can work for timely news, events and industries with active conversations there, but for many local businesses other platforms reach more customers.
