What is a directory link?
A directory link is a link to your website from an online business directory, such as a local chamber of commerce or industry listing site.
Directory links come from websites that list businesses, such as Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, a chamber of commerce or a trade association. Good directories are real, curated and used by customers, and they also act as citations that confirm your business details. Low-quality directories that exist only to sell links add little and can look spammy.
Why it matters for your business: A handful of trusted, relevant directory listings help people find you and support local rankings. Hundreds of junk directories do not.
