What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work of helping your business show up when people nearby search for what you sell, including on Google Maps.
Local SEO focuses on searches with a place in them, like "bakery near me" or "plumber in Denver." It covers your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your business name, address and phone number on other sites, and pages on your website that mention the areas you serve. Search engines use these signals to decide which local businesses to show in the map results and the regular results for a nearby searcher.
Why it matters for your business: If customers come to you, or you go to them in a set area, most of your new business likely starts with a local search. Local SEO puts you in front of those ready-to-buy searchers.
