What is a focal point?
A focal point is the spot in a design or photo that draws the eye first.
A focal point is where attention lands first. In a photo it might be a face or a product. On a web page it is usually a headline, an image or a button. Designers create focal points with size, contrast, color and empty space around the item. A design with several competing focal points feels busy, because the eye does not know where to go.
Why it matters for your business: Making your main message or call to action the clear focal point helps visitors take the step you want.
