What is a hero image?
A hero image is the large banner photo or graphic at the top of a web page that sets the first impression.
The hero is the big visual area at the top of a page, often with a headline and a button on top of it. A hero image might be a photo of your team, your work or your location. Because it is the first thing visitors see, it should load fast and clearly show what you do. Text placed over the image needs enough contrast to read, and the image must crop well on phones.
Why it matters for your business: A strong hero tells visitors within seconds that they are in the right place, which keeps them from leaving.
