What is a hard bounce?
A hard bounce is a permanent delivery failure, usually because the email address does not exist or the domain is invalid.
A hard bounce means the message will never be delivered to that address. Common causes are a typo in the address, a closed mailbox or a domain that no longer exists. Most email marketing tools stop sending to an address automatically after a hard bounce. You should remove or correct it in your own contact lists too.
Why it matters for your business: Sending to dead addresses again and again tells inbox providers your list is poorly kept, which can push your mail to spam for everyone.
