What is a hex code?
A hex code is a six-character code, like #1A73E8, that tells a website or design app exactly which color to show.
A hex code is a way of writing a screen color. It starts with a pound sign and has six characters made of the numbers 0 to 9 and the letters A to F. The first pair sets the amount of red, the middle pair green and the last pair blue. For example, #000000 is black and #FFFFFF is white. Websites, design tools and many apps accept hex codes, so they are the most reliable way to share an exact color.
Why it matters for your business: When you give a designer or developer your hex codes, your brand colors on the web match exactly instead of being picked by eye.
