What is a lookalike audience?

A lookalike audience is a group of new people an ad platform finds because they resemble your current customers.

A lookalike audience starts with a source list, such as your customer emails, website visitors or Page followers. The ad platform studies what those people have in common, then finds other users who share those traits. On Meta, you can choose a narrow match that closely resembles your source or a broader one that reaches more people. Other platforms offer similar audience features.

Why it matters for your business: Lookalikes help your ads reach people who are more likely to want what you sell, instead of guessing at interests.
