What is a PSD file?
A PSD is the layered working file from Adobe Photoshop, used to edit photos and graphics before exporting them.
PSD stands for Photoshop Document. It saves an image with its separate layers, text and effects so it can be changed later. PSD files can be very large and are not meant to go directly on a website. Instead, a designer exports a finished JPG, PNG or WebP from the PSD. Some website mockups are delivered as PSD files.
Why it matters for your business: Keep the PSD as the editable source and use exported, web-sized images on your site.
