What is contrast in design?
Contrast is the difference between elements, like dark text on a light background or a big heading over small text, that helps things stand out.
Contrast is created when two things are clearly different. It can come from color, lightness, size, weight or shape. High contrast draws attention, which is why a bold button in an accent color stands out on a calm page. Contrast also affects readability: light gray text on a white background is hard for many people to read. Accessibility guidelines set minimum color contrast levels for text.
Why it matters for your business: Strong contrast makes your key actions noticeable and your text readable for everyone, including people with low vision.
