What is a slider or carousel?

A slider, or carousel, is a section of a page that rotates through several images or messages in the same spot.

A slider shows a set of slides one at a time, either changing automatically or when a visitor clicks arrows or dots. Sliders are often used for hero sections, testimonials and product photos. Many visitors only see the first slide, and auto-rotating slides can be distracting or hard to read in time. They can also slow a page and cause problems for people using screen readers if not built carefully.

Why it matters for your business: Put your most important message in a fixed spot rather than on the third slide of a rotating carousel.
