What is above the fold?
Above the fold is the part of a web page people see before they scroll.
The phrase comes from newspapers, where the top half of the front page showed on the newsstand. On a website, above the fold means the area visible when a page first loads. Its size depends on the device, so it differs between a phone and a large monitor. People do scroll, but they spend the most attention near the top, so that area should say what you do and offer a clear next step.
Why it matters for your business: Putting your key message and main action near the top makes sure even quick visitors know who you are and how to reach you.
