What is a spam complaint?
A spam complaint happens when a recipient clicks Report spam or Junk on your email.
A spam complaint is recorded when someone marks your email as spam in their inbox. Their provider takes note and may share it with your email service. Google asks bulk senders to keep their spam rate below 0.1 percent and never reach 0.3 percent. Common causes are people who forgot signing up, emails that come too often and unsubscribe links that are hard to find.
Why it matters for your business: Even a small number of complaints can hurt your sender reputation and push future mail into spam folders.
