What is an unsubscribe?
An unsubscribe is a request from a recipient to stop getting your marketing emails, usually made with a link in the message.
An unsubscribe link lets people opt out of your marketing emails. In the United States, the CAN-SPAM Act requires commercial emails to include a clear way to opt out and to honor requests within 10 business days. Gmail and Yahoo also require bulk senders to support one-click unsubscribe, which lets people leave without logging in or filling out a form.
Why it matters for your business: A clear unsubscribe link protects you legally and keeps unhappy people from marking your mail as spam instead.
