What is a static website?
A static website sends the same ready-made pages to every visitor, without building them from a database each time.
A static website is made of pages that are built ahead of time and stored as finished files. When someone visits, the server sends the file as is. Static sites tend to be fast, secure and cheap to host, because there is little to break or attack. The trade-off is that changes are made by rebuilding the pages. Many modern sites mix the two approaches, building most pages ahead of time and adding live features where needed.
Why it matters for your business: Static pages load quickly and are hard to hack, which is good for small businesses that mainly need to inform and convert visitors.
