What is page speed?
Page speed is how quickly a web page loads and becomes usable. Slow pages lose visitors and can rank lower in search.
Page speed describes how fast a page appears and responds after someone opens it. It is not one number. Tools measure several moments, such as when the main content shows up, when the page reacts to a tap, and whether things jump around while loading. Google groups three of these as Core Web Vitals. Large images, too many scripts, slow hosting and no caching are common causes of slow pages.
Why it matters for your business: Visitors leave slow pages, especially on phones. Faster pages usually mean more calls, sales and form fills.
