What is ad reach?

Reach is the number of different people who saw your ad or post at least once.

Reach counts unique people, not total showings. If 1,000 people each see your ad three times, your reach is 1,000 and your impressions are 3,000. The average number of times each person saw the ad is called frequency. Social platforms report reach for ads and for unpaid posts. Reach numbers are estimates, since one person may use several devices.

Why it matters for your business: Reach tells you how many local people know about your offer, while frequency warns you when the same people are seeing it too often.
