What is an embed code?
An embed code is a short snippet from another service that you paste into a page to show its content, like a video, map or booking form.
An embed code is a small piece of HTML that another service gives you so its content can appear on your website. YouTube, Google Maps, booking tools, review platforms and payment forms all offer them. The code often uses an iframe, which is a window inside your page that shows content from the other site, or a script that builds the widget. The content still lives on the other service, so changes there show up on your site.
Why it matters for your business: Embeds let you add features without building them, but they depend on the outside service staying online and can slow your page.
