What is a widget?
A widget is a small, self-contained tool placed on a web page, like a chat box, review feed, booking button or map.
A widget is a small piece of functionality you can add to a website, often supplied by another service. Examples include a live chat bubble, a reviews feed, a booking button, a social media feed, a map or a cookie banner. Widgets are usually added with a short embed code. Each one loads extra files, so too many widgets can slow a page down or conflict with each other.
Why it matters for your business: Widgets add features fast, but each one is another outside service on your site. Keep the ones that earn their place and remove the rest.
