What is responsive design?
Responsive design means a website adjusts its layout to fit any screen, from a small phone to a large desktop monitor.
Responsive design is a way of building websites so the same pages rearrange themselves to fit the screen. On a computer you might see three columns side by side. On a phone they stack into one, menus fold into a button, and images shrink. The screen widths where the layout changes are called breakpoints. A layout that stretches smoothly between sizes is sometimes called a fluid layout. Responsive sites use one address and one set of content for all devices.
Why it matters for your business: Most visitors arrive on phones, and Google looks at the mobile version of your site first. A site that is hard to use on a phone loses customers.
