What is saturation?
Saturation is how strong or pure a color is, from vivid and bold to muted and grayish.
Saturation describes the intensity of a color. A fully saturated color is bright and bold, like a fire-engine red. As saturation drops, the color moves toward gray and feels softer or more muted. At zero saturation every color becomes a shade of gray. Designers often use highly saturated colors sparingly, for buttons and highlights, and lower-saturation colors for large backgrounds.
Why it matters for your business: Using strong color only where you want attention helps visitors find your most important actions.
