What is web accessibility?

Web accessibility means building websites that people with disabilities can use, including people who are blind, deaf, or cannot use a mouse.

An accessible website works for people with a wide range of abilities. That includes people who use screen readers, people who navigate with a keyboard or voice, people with low vision or color blindness, and people with hearing or cognitive disabilities. Common practices include alt text on images, readable color contrast, captions on videos, clear labels on forms and pages that work without a mouse. Accessibility also helps older visitors and anyone on a small screen.

Why it matters for your business: An accessible site reaches more customers and lowers legal risk. Building it in from the start costs less than fixing it later.
