What is a CDN?
A CDN, or content delivery network, stores copies of your site's files on servers around the world so pages load fast wherever visitors are.
A CDN (content delivery network) is a group of servers spread across many locations. It keeps copies of your website's files, especially images, styles and scripts, and serves each visitor from the location closest to them. Shorter distance means faster loading. A CDN also absorbs traffic spikes and can block some attacks. Because it caches files, a change may take a little time to appear everywhere unless the CDN cache is cleared.
Why it matters for your business: A CDN makes your site faster for visitors on phones and in other regions, and speed affects both sales and search rankings.
